Certified Rehab Counselor (CRCC)

The Rehabilitation Counselor Certification Commission is a non-profit organization whose main aim is to improve the lives of those with disabilities. The CRCC sets the standards for rehabilitation counseling services. The CCRR (Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) and CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Centre) are designations that offer specialized training and education coupled with understanding and competencies that are based on current practices in real life, along with compliance with the Code of Professional Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors, and continuing education.

About the certification

  • National Accreditation: The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) gives out accreditation that is long standing and held by the CRCC.
  • Eligibility: Eligibility categories are held on ongoing and current practices and qualified requirements in this particular field.
  • Competency: There is regular research is conducted into the exam. If a passing score is obtained it means that the individual has met the national requirements of competency standards, which was based on current practice.
  • Code of Ethics: CRCC’s follows the code of ethics the Code of Professional Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors.
  • Ongoing Skill Development: The certification needs to be renewed after every 5 years by 100 hours of continuing education or re-examination.
